A burglar tricked his way into the home of a pensioner in Wickham .

The man claimed he was from a company called EURW and needed to check the taps at a house in Buddens Road.

It was later found that two rooms had been searched, though nothing stolen.

Anyone with information about the break-in, which happened at around midday on Friday, should call North Walls police station on 101.

This sort of scum will always succeed somewhere as too many of us are far too trusting of people who appear on the doorstep. If you let someone in to read a meter or 'check' something, go with them to keep an eye and always ask to see ID

Don't see how he can be called a burglar if there was nothing stolen and it can hardly be referred to as a 'break-in' if he didn't break in!
