More than 15 firefighters fight blaze

ARSONISTS were responsible for a blaze at a Southampton home last night.

The firebugs set alight a pile of rubbish in a back garden which spread to the home.

Nobody was in the house at the time but the fire gutted the extension and completely damaged its roof.

More than 15 firefighters from across the city attended the blaze at the end of terraced home in Foundry Lane, Southampton.

But while they were there they spotted a bin fire in a nearby alleyway, believed to be started by the same criminals.

Crews from both Redbridge and St Mary’s were called to the scene at 11.43pm and took more than an hour battling the blaze.

Police are now investigating the incidents.

Our street just isn't safe any more........this is the second separate arson attack in the last fortnight or so. Also the amount of violent attacks is getting out of hand aswell, its not safe for us to bring up a child here anymore. The police need to get a grip, because people in the area are scared to go out at night and that's not an exaggeration.
