Man suffers serious head injuries in street attack Man suffers serious head injuries in street attack

A MAN is in hospital with serious head injuries today after a savage attack on a busy Hampshire road.

The 28-year-old was found lying on the pavement along Southampton Road in Eastleigh - just a short distance from the town's train station.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after 2pm yesterday and treated the man for serious but non life threatening injuries.

Police believe more than one person may have carried out the attack and have launched an investigation to determine the motive.

Offices are conducting door to door enquiries in their hunt for witnesses and have urged any motorists driving along the heavily used road at the time to contact them.

Anyone with information should call Eastleigh police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
