Cycle route plans plough on Cycle route plans plough on

PLANS to build a new cycle path along Hockley Viaduct in Winchester have shifted up a gear.

The county council has approved building new ramps and paths to connect different parts of the route at a cost of £254,000. It is going to be integrated into the National Cycle Network.

Won't be long till it's reopened to the railway, more campaigners are demanding this route to be reopened.

Should never have been closed in the first place, and definitely should not have been allowed to deteriote to the point where thousands of pounds have to be spent on it. But that's life!

That route probably won't reopen because there are probably housing estates built on the old track bed plus it would mean installing a level crossing on that 50mph stretch of road that goes between badger farm road and the motorway which would cause major traffic problems.
