Ford denies threat to Southampton's Transit factory

Ford denies threat to Southampton plant Ford denies threat to Southampton plant

FORD has denied as speculation reports that its Southampton plant would be at risk from any restructuring of its European business as sales in the continent fell 29 per cent year-on-year in August.

A spokesman said it was investing in new European models and had made a commitment to its Southampton factory three years ago.

Southampton will become the lead European plant for the chassis cab variants of the next model Transit.

No Specutation, Fords HQ wants the Transits Factory shut down in the UK and transfered to Turkey lock stock and barrel, it was a hard battle just to get them to keep the chassis cab in the UK

When TUSC get into power in Soton Council, as you confidently say one day they will, you should be given the position of Head of PR, as your continually negative view on all things to do with Soton will reduce the City Financial requirements as most of us will have committed suicide
