Suicide ‘influenced by brother’s hanging’
A HAMPSHIRE man hanged himself 14 years after his brother had done the same thing, an inquest heard.
Jason Thomas, 27, of Priestlands , Romsey , struggled to cope with the suicide of his older brother Jamie, who hanged himself while on remand for theft at Winchester Prison, the Winchester inquest was told.
Jason’s body was found in Tadburn Meadows Park, near Eight Acres in Halterworth, Romsey, on May 6.
He was a familiar face at Romsey’s Station Café which was set up by his mother, former Test Valley councilllor Sally Lamb.
Mid-Hampshire coroner Grahame Short recorded a suicide verdict.
