DETECTIVES have made two arrests after a man suffered serious head injuries in a street attack.

As previously reported, the 28-year-old was found lying on the pavement in Southampton Road, Eastleigh , just a short distance from the town’s train station.

Paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 2pm on Thursday and the victim was taken to hospital.

Police have now arrested a 17-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from London, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They have also both been arrested on suspicion of being concerned with the selling of class A drugs.

Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Fortress team, which deals with drug |related violence, was called |in following the assault |on the afternoon of September 13.
