Ex-partner spared jail term Ex-partner spared jail term

A MAN has avoided a prison sentence for twice punching his ex-partner’s new boyfriend in the street because the couple have rekindled their relationship.

Ashley Moylette, 25, of Millbrook Towers, Millbrook, admitted battery against Matthew Gale.

Francisca da Costa, prosecuting at Winchester Crown Court, said Miss Witt was walking with Mr Gale when they saw Moylette in April. Miss Witt and Mr Gale had been in a relationship for four months.

Moylette punched Mr Gale on the side of the face before Mr Gale grabbed him and pushed him away.

A few minutes later Moylette followed them and hit Mr Gale again, said Miss da Costa.

Moylette was also in breach of a suspended sentence imposed in July 2011 for a burglary.

The judge, Mr Recorder Nigel Lickley QC, imposed a three-month jail sentence suspended for 15 months, with a supervision requirement and ordered him to attend a 38-day domestic abuse programme.
