Southampton Football Club captain Adam Lallana celebrates after girlfriend gives birth to baby boy

The 24-year-old’s girlfriend Emily Jubb gave birth to their first son, named Arthur Michael, on Wednesday afternoon, topping off what has been a fantastic month for the midfielder.
The birth comes just weeks after the Saints star was called up to the England squad by Roy Hodgson and days after Southampton got their first win in the Premier League.
Yesterday Saints boss Nigel Adkins confirmed that Lallana, who has yet to score this season, would be available to feature at Goodison Park on Saturday when Saints take on Everton, looking to score their first away win of the season.
“Great congratulations to them both, or rather the three of them and the whole family,” Adkins said.
“The family has had a baby and he has a smashing young son and he can look forward to playing against Everton.”
The arrival of Arthur had been expected the week Lallana was called up to the national squad when they faced Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier on September 12 but he eventually decided to make an appearance on Wednesday and already has a Junior Saint membership pack in the post from the Saints Foundation.
Teammates Rahdhi Jaidi and Richard Chaplow sent messages of support to the new parents.
Chaplow tweeted: “So happy for the Lallana family and the birth of their little boy Arthur. I’m sure Adz will take to fatherhood like a duck to water.”
Saints fans online have already urged the club to sign up the newborn in the hope that he has inherited his dad’s right foot.
