A FORDINGBRIDGE farmer must pay £3,282 after pleading guilty to a string of offences, including keeping calves in a waste-sodden stall.
Colin James Shutler, 50, of Avonside Farm, Southampton Road, was taken to court by Hampshire County Council Trading Standards.
At Southampton Magistrates Court he pleaded guilty to housing six calves in a stall that was soaked with mud and waste without anywhere to rest comfortably.
He was fined £1,250 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and £767.54 court costs.
Shutler also pleaded guilty to failing to enter the birth details of 27 bovine animals into a herd register within 30 days between May 7 and August 8 last year and was fined £1,250.
