A man has been charged with assaulting two police officers following an incident in Southampton earlier this week.
The two officers, a police constable and a detective constable from the Operation Fortress team, were attempting to make an arrest on St Mary Street around 1.40pm, Tuesday, October 2 when they were assaulted.
Tarek Kashem, 31, of St Mary Street, is also accused of possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply. He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court today.
