AN accident involving two lorries on the M27 was this morning causing long rush hour tailbacks.

Two lanes of the westbound motorway were closed following the accident just after junction nine at Whiteley. Debris was left strewn across the road.

Police said the collision happened just before 6.30am.

A lorry driver was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital as a precaution.

One lorry was carrying medical waste, which spilled onto the carriageway, police said.

Traffic was queuing back to junction 12 at Fareham. Delays of an hour and half were reported by motorists.

Idiots looking at the thing are causing the delays I bet. This stuff causes a massive impact on business - millions of pounds of lost cash!

Absolute chaos out there, roads gridlocked and massive tailbacks; clearly the infrastructure along the south coast is too fragile to cope and our councils are playing even more housing! madness.

When I went down the M27 west bound this morning at around 8:45ish the traffic heading east was at pretty much a stand still from J9 to J5

And many thanks to the broadcast radio muppet's for suggesting traffic leave's the motorway to find an alternative route. A27 from Fareham to Bursledon grid-lock, meant Turk-Town couldn't empty either, and all the side roads were stuffed.
45 minute's to do 4 miles that usually takes 12 min's on a bad day, on a motorcycle, in a car I'd have been lucky to do it in twice that.

Use what god gave you then....legs. Think of the poor guys that were involved in the accident. I left Fareham at 7am and got back to Bitterne at 8.25 and didn't use the motorway. Am I moaning!? No. Be thankful.

My partner was held up this morning going the other way by nosy rubberneckers, were they not concerned about being late for work? Its outrageous that some people are so insensitive, I am glad there does seem to be any serious injuries which is all that matters.

Despite all the moaning about the inconvenience this accident has caused most people. Give a thought about all the people involved and the fact they get to go home and see their families, as im sure the driver of the lorry involve didnt want to be in the situation he was in either.
