Rhino Club faces closing earlier

Rhino Club in Southampton
A SOUTHAMPTON nightclub could be forced to shut earlier after police became alarmed at the number of violent offences at the venue.
Police have called on councillors to today review the licence for the Rhino club in Waterloo Terrace, near Bedford Place.
The club, which has hosted top DJs from Fatboy Slim to Carl Cox, as well as local heroes Artful Dodger and James Zabiela, runs popular dance, hip-hop and soul music nights But police say club bosses have failed to take necessary steps to prevent crime, public nuisance and protect children from harm.
A 110-page police dossier details 99 incidents at the club in the past year. They include 36 reports of alleged assaults and around 56 per cent took place after 2am, police said.
The number of assaults is nearly double those at a similar nearby club, they added.
Police have urged councillors to reduce the club’s closing time from 4am to 2am.
Licence holder Robin Felgate was unavailable for comment. A hearing of the council’s licensing committee will take place today.

To be fair it is one of the worst bar/clubs in the area and the crowd it seems to attract are horrible.

Rhino used to be one of the best clubs around with a decent crowd, not been there for years so can't really comment on what like now, obviously not great by the sounds of it.
