Police probe city sex attack
DETECTIVES are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a young woman in a car in Southampton.
The 20-year-old victim was in a vehicle on the way home from a night out with friends when she said she was attacked, near to Gordon Avenue in Portswood.
She has told police the assault took place in a car, and she then got out near Gordon Avenue, off Portswood Road.
The woman was not injured and is being supported by police and receiving specialist victim support while detectives investigate the attack.
A team of officers is understood to be trying to establish where she got in the vehicle, and whether it was a private car or a taxi.
They are also attempting to identify any available CCTV footage from the area.
A force spokesman said the attack, which happened between midnight and 12.40am on Wednesday, is believed to be an “isolated incident”.
Anyone with information should call the Western Area CID Team at Southampton Central Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

So whos car was she in?
They don't even know whether it was a taxi or not yet? Surely she could answer that pretty easily.
Shame things like this happen. Knowing not to get into cars with strangers is like anti-rape 101.

I wouldn't get into a car with a woman, **** can still happen. Never risk it.
This media needs to start again, apparently people didn't notice.
