A Hampshire supermarket is taking part in a national food drive this weekend.

Sainsbury’s in Hedge End will be asking shoppers to donate items at the checkout today and tomorrow.

The retail giant is hoping to collect a million meals across its stores during the weekend to give to families in need.

The supermarket will pass the food on to FareShare, a charity that is tackling hunger across the UK.

Hang on!!! With the sheer amount of WASTE food that comes directly from supermarkets, why are they asking customers to donate? They could donate directly themselves!!!!
