Motorcyclist hurt in crash with van

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured after colliding with a van on a busy Hampshire town centre road.

Police closed Southampton Road in Eastleigh in both directions following the crash, shortly after 4.05pm yesterday.

The biker, who was riding a red Honda motorcycle, was thrown to the ground in Leigh Road, following the crash with a white Mercedes Vito outside the Wagon Works pub, opposite Eastleigh railway station.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene, and the motorcyclist has been taken to Southampton General Hospital suffering serious leg injuries.

It is believed the injuries are not life threatening.

Could be interesting, we're gonna get the anti biker brigade v the anti white van man posting on this site now. Hope the bikes not badly damaged.And, oh yes, hope the biker isn't too badly injured.

Legally you can't call it an "RTA" any more, it either has to be an "RTC" or an "RTI" because there are no accidents where vehicles are concerned, there's always someone at fault in a collision.

Legally you can't call it an "RTA" any more, it either has to be an "RTC" or an "RTI" because there are no accidents where vehicles are concerned, there's always someone at fault in a collision.
Its not to do with legality strictly speaking, GC, its to do with influencing the outcome of an investigation or court procedure. ;-)

True I guess but the police do get rather shirty if someone calls it an "accident".

Yes but calling it an accident, implies nobody was at fault when in fact there was... But at least we're debating something related to the article.
