Soldiers from Port and Maritime Regiment join community fundraisers and Asda staff with a trolley of donated goods.
BIG-hearted shoppers are sending goodies to British troops serving on the front line in Afghanistan.
Customers at the Totton branch of Asda are filling trolleys with non-perishable goods, including chocolates, sweets and biscuits. Books and DVDs are also being bought at the store and donated to the cause.
The treats are being sent out to the soldiers by the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), which visited Asda to see the scheme in action.
Representatives from the fund were joined by troops from Marchwood’s 17 Port and Maritime Regiment, one of the units that has served in Afghanistan.
Asda spokesman Julie Motherwell said: “Our customers love the soldiers.”
