A judge and key witness in the Chris Huhne case has been arrested.
Judge Constance Briscoe, 55, was taken in for questioning in Clapham at the weekend by officer from Kent Police.
She was bailed pending further enquiries and has also been suspended from the judiciary.
The force has not revealed why she was arrested.
Ms Briscoe is expected to be called as a prosecution witness in the case against Mr Huhne, who is due to go on trial in January accused of perverting the course of justice over claims he persuaded his then-wife to Vicky Pryce to take penalty points on his behalf for a speeding offence.
The case had been due to start last week but was suspended for legal reasons.
