POLICE in Southampton have arrested a 29-year-old man as part of the investigation into an armed raid at a Southampton restaurant.
The robbery happened at Banana Wharf restaurant in April when four balaclava clad men pushed their way into the restaurant and confronted the two members of staff who were still there, threatening them with a knife.
As reported at the time by the Daily Echo, the gang managed to escape with around £20,000 from the safe.
Officers are now questioning the man they arrested last night and are continuing to appeal for information. Anyone who knows anything about the crime is asked to call the Operation Lantern team at Shirley CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
