RESIDENTS can get a preview of what a multi-million-pound community centre will look like in Bursledon.

Work is set to start later this year on the new building at Lowford Hill.

It will house a GP surgery, new library, parish office and a revamped community centre.

The existing community centre will be demolished as part of the £3.5m project, with the new facility opening in early 2014.

Eastleigh Borough Council is running the scheme, in partnership with doctors from Bursledon Surgery, SHIP Primary Care Trust, Hampshire County Council, Bursledon Parish Council and Bursledon and District Community Association.

There will be an exhibition on the plans at Bursledon Village Hall today between 9am and 1pm and Pilands Wood Community Centre on Wednesday, 3pm to 7pm.
