TWO men have been charged over a spate of high-value thefts of marine equipment from around Hampshire.
More than £250,000 worth of boats, trailers and jet-skis were taken during raids across the county, and one in neighbouring West Sussex, between February and October last year.
Detectives have charged Alexander Everett, 43, of Astrid Close, Hayling Island, with seven counts of theft, and Jerry Russett, 53, of Tamarisk Road, Hedge End, with two.
Among crimes Everett is accused of are ones from Sarisbury Green, where a boat and trailer worth £45,000 were taken, another in Swanwick, where a boat and trailer valued at £50,000 went missing, and an incident at Hamble River Boatyard in which a £14,000 jet-ski was stolen.
Both are also charged over the theft of a trailer and two coffee vending machines valued at £12,652.
Everett and Russett have both been released on conditional bail until October 26, when they are due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
