A TEENAGER has been arrested after a man was knifed in a Hampshire town.

The 22-year-old was on a cycle path when approached by two men who asked him for his mobile.

When he refused to hand over the phone he was stabbed with a knife. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and took him to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham by ambulance. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident, near Toronton Road in Gosport on Monday at 11.20pm.

A 17-year-old boy from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He is still being questioned by police.
