82-year-old woman went missing while taking her dog for a walk on the Isle of Wight

AN ELDERLY woman spent more than 24 hours stuck in a bog after getting trapped while she took her dog for a walk.

The 82-year-old was reported missing after failing to return to her Isle of Wight home after going out on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were told she had disappeared at 3.30pm on Wednesday, and a major search of the area around Ventnor was launched in a bid to find her.

The woman, who has not been named, was discovered at around 6.30pm in a bog in Pelham Wood.

Her dog was beside her.

Emergency teams from the island’s police, fire and rescue and ambulance services managed to rescue the woman, and she was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport for treatment for the effects of mild hypothermia.

This reminds me of the song !

'' Oh Dear,
What can the matter be ?

3 Old Ladies stuck in the lavatory ''

SERIOUSLY though, I hope the lady concerned & her dog recover ok.
It must have been very traumatic for her.
