FORMER Saints striker Peter Crouch has been hit with a six-month driving ban for speeding.

The 31-year-old was slapped with the automatic penalty after racking up 21 points on his licence.

He most recently received 12 points for being caught doing 69mph in a 40mph zone and 70mph in a 40mph zone on the M42/M6 Toll Road, Warwicks, on two different dates.

Crouch, who now plays for Premier League side Stoke, did not turn up to court and was fine a total of £1,300 on top of his ban.

Should have been banned for 12 months minimum and based on his ability to pay a £10,000 fine.
Breaking the speed limits to this extent shows what an arrogant and dangerous driver he is.

I take it was through road works as his speed wasn't over the national speed limit. If that's the case it's madness doing that speed!

Fined £1300 , that for him is about 1 hours work.

Your right, those who have earned money by making something of themselves should be punished much more.

Racked up 21 points? Funny how the normal person would have been banned with 12 points.

Just stating a fact. the fine will be incidental to him.

I think you'll find the points in this case took him over 12 and therefore the ban kicked in.

Shoong, you are such a one trick pony, always rushing to protect the better off. Skin2000 was not suggesting he should be fined more than anyone else, just proportionately the same. Surely that is fair?
