A CURRY cook-off saw Hampshire’s top Asian chefs battle it out for a true taste of India.

Taking part in the live event at De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel were Southampton eateries Jehangir in Winchester Road, Sanjha in Shirley Road, Diljas in Portswood Road along with Winchester’s Rimjhim.

After a tantalising but tasty contest, Sanjha triumphed with their stirring dish.

Attending were Masterchef winner Shelina Permalloo, Mayor of Southampton Cllr Derek Burke and many of Southampton’s business leaders.

There's no way Jehangir would ever win ,far too plain and not Indian.. Sanjha are the only Punjabi restaurant in Southampton and deserve to win.

Completely subjective. Everyone has 'the best indian' just around the corner from where they live!
