New Forest East MP Julian Lewis's fears over 'security threat'

Dr Julian Lewis Dr Julian Lewis

TORY Julian Lewis has called for action to protect MPs’ home addresses from being made public.

The New Forest East MP successfully led a campaign to prevent details of members’ homes from being published under the the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.

Yesterday he returned to the issue, telling the Commons about an FOI request asking for details of MPs’ landlords to be published.

Raising a Point of Order after Prime Minister’s Questions, Dr Lewis said: “A number of colleagues from both sides of the House have approached me about an FOI request that colleagues who rent their properties should have their landlords’ names disclosed.

“There is concern that this could breach the security of MPs homes addresses.”

He asked Speaker John Bercow what action he proposed to take. He said he was “extremely grateful”

to Dr Lewis for raising the issue, and was “very aware” of the concerns. He has already written to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.

wrong once you choose a public life you become the property of the people. thats why the real Left as never fear its people, because they do no harm to the majority, where as right wing harm the majority for the sake of them selfs and minority and do fear its people.
do no harm to the people and the people will do no harm to you.
