Couple attacked by gang of vandals
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man and woman were attacked by a group of youths in Southampton.
The 47-year-old man approached the group who were pushing over bins in the street. When they threatened him he walked away but they followed and attacked him. The man’s 51-year-old partner was also assaulted when she tried to help him.
The couple both received treatment for their injuries at Southampton General Hospital. The man had a badly bruised eye and fractured wrist and the woman was treated for bruising.
Details of the incident, which happened at about 12.45am on Saturday October 13, in Vine Road, Southampton, have only just been released by detectives.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Martin Brewer said: “Exact circumstances are still under investigation and we are keen for witnesses to come forward and assist us with our inquiries.”
