THE candidates for the new £85,000-a-year role of Police and crime Commissioner for Hampshire have been confirmed.
Five men and one woman will contest the election for the post to set local strategies for reducing crime, set the force budget and hire and fire the chief constable.
The candidates, who have already been campaigning for weeks, have been confirmed as Michael Mates (Tory), Jacqui Rayment (Labour), David Goodall (Lib Dem), Michael West (UKIP), Don Jerrard (The Justice and Anti-Corruption Party) and Simon Hayes (Independent).
The elections will be held on November 15.
