Charity needs your vote for vital lifeline
A VITAL lifeline for the homeless will win a £2,000 grant – if enough people vote for it.
New Forest Nightstop, which provides free short-term accommodation for people aged 16 to 24, has reached the final of this year’s National lottery Awards.
The organisation is one of only three projects in the best voluntary/charity project – and the public will decide who wins.
Jude Todd, project co-ordinator at New Forest Nightstop, said: “Getting through to the final of the National Lottery Awards means so much to us.
“Nightstop offers a listening ear to homeless people and a sense of value, belonging and hope. We’d like people to show their appreciation of our work by voting for us.”
Call 0844 836 9737 or log on to lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards. The deadline for votes is October 28.

However on my frequent trips to the Houses of Parliament I see every time the homeless in Victoria Street, too many of them quite young, and am disgusted that the 'Ruling Class' just down the road are not motivated to build council houses (14,500 on Southampton's housing list alone) because this will affect the property prices of their rich landlord party donors. Us plebs don't matter.
Charities supporting homeless people are so valuable and to me personally, very worthy so I support them all I can.
But why does a charity/project such as New Forest Nighstop have an age range of people they cater for? Surely, if you're homeless, you're homeless regardless of age?
