By Tara Russell, News Reporter
TODAY the Daily Echo can show for the first time the face of the man accused of murdering a Hampshire grandmother in her own home.
The footage shows Matthew Hamlen shopping at Sainsbury's supermarket in Eastleigh, which the prosecution say was just hours after he had battered 77-year-old Georgina Edmonds to death with a rolling pin.
Earlier in the trial at Winchester Crown Court jurors were shown the CCTV captured the same afternoon the grandmother died - exactly four years ago today.
The prosecution claim Hamlen killed Mrs Edmonds then later that afternoon he went to buy some groceries.
Hamlen, 33, who denies the murder said, when giving his own evidence, he was shopping for cakes and food for dinner ahead of his girlfriend Emma White returning home from a trip to Plymouth the following day.
