DETECTIVES are appealing for help to trace the final movements of a teenager, 12 days after her body was found in a Bournemouth bungalow.

Senior investigating officer Inspector Neil Devoto told the Daily Echo he would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw 17-year-old Emily Longley on the night before her death.

As he awaits the results of toxicology tests, which could take several weeks, Inspector Devoto said: "We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and I would appeal for anyone who has knowledge of anything that Emily may have taken that evening to come forward.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information which may assist the police investigation to establish how and why Emily died. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence."

He added that officers had spoken to a number of Emily's friends and acquaintances who had helped piece together her movements up until late evening on Friday, May 6.

Emily's body was found at a property in Queenswood Avenue on Saturday, May 7.

Born in London, Emily and her parents had moved to New Zealand in recent years. But the Brockenhurst College student returned to the UK last year to live with her grandparents in Southbourne.

Her parents Caroline and Mark flew back to England after receiving the devastating news of Emily's death.

Mr Longley said: "We're incredibly upset. It's a tragic loss of such a beautiful, life-loving girl. We just want to be with her. We're just letting the police investigate the circumstances."

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth from Bournemouth were arrested in connection with Emily's death and released on police bail.
