A WOMAN accused of being part of a gang who tortured and murdered a young man has today admitted perverting the course of justice.

Donna Chalk pleaded guilty to the secondary charge on the basis that she admits cleaning up the Southampton flat where Jamie Dack was allegedly knifed to death.

The foreman of the jury at Winchester Crown Court was ordered to formally find 21-year-old Chalk guilty of the offence.

Chalk entered her plea after the indictment was altered to now include the cleaning of the murder scene as well as the removal and disposal of Jamie's body as well as setting it on fire in an industrial bin in Empress Road on Easter Sunday.

The court has heard how Jamie was beaten and left bleeding and badly injured on the evening of Thursday April 5.

It is alleged he was further attacked the following day with broken bottles, knives, fists and feet which resulted in his death.

The prosecution say his body was left in the one bedroom flat in Bevois Mews until it was removed by wheelie bin in the early hours of Sunday morning and set on fire with petrol.

Lee Nicholls, 28, of Southampton Street, Andrew Dwyer-Skeats, 26 and Chalk, both of Bevois Mews and Ryan Woodmansey, 32, of no fixed abode, all deny murder.

The three men admitted perverting the course of justice before the trial began last month.
