Jury still out in Lewis murder trial

JURORS considering their verdicts in the Lewis Singleton murder trial have been sent home for a second night.
The seven men and five women, who heard evidence for three weeks during the case at Winchester Crown Court, have now spent eight hours locked in deliberation.
They will resume their discussions tomorrow morning.
Lewis died from injuries caused by five stab wounds after being ambushed by a gang of five people as he made his way through the Woolston area of Southampton with a friend in the early hours of March 31 last year.
Rikki Johnson, 19, of Honeysuckle Road, Bassett, Sercan Calik, 19, of Burgess Road, Bassett, and two youths aged 16 and 17 who cannot be named for legal reasons, all deny charges of murder and violent disorder.
