Youths snowball cars in Townhill Park

CLOSE RANGE: A gang of youths run into the road throwing snowballs at passing cars in Meggeson Avenue in Townhill Park.
A GANG of youths lined a Southampton street before pelting motorists with snowballs, the Daily Echo can reveal.
The yobs, some as young as ten, terrorised drivers in Meggason Avenue in Townhill Park yesterday afternoon causing them to swerve on the treacherous roads.
The youths finally stopped after some motorists parked their cars and chased them away.
One eyewitness said: “There were at least 15 kids who were throwing ice and snow at cars at close range.
Dangerous “Because the cars were driving slowly in the icy conditions the kids were running in between the cars so they could get even closer.
“Some were just inches from the cars they were throwing the snowballs at.
“Some of the drivers thought enough was enough and parked their cars and chased the kids away.”
A police spokesman said: “Having a snowball fight can be a lot of fun if it’s between friends but to target motorists especially in large groups at close quarters is not on.
“It can be quite dangerous and could result in damage to vehicles or even an accident.
“Quite a lot of the snow has now turned toice and this can be very hard when thrown.
“We would ask people not to do this and to think about the consequences. Enjoy the snow but go and do something else.”

Question - where were the parents? Arrest the little yobs - zero tolerance by the police for 6 months will give a break to people who suffer from these yobs everyday. This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Add some coloured dye and soak/tag the little toe-rags. It might not stop all of their anti-social behavior, but at least they would have to sit in front of their PS3's in damp, stinking trackie bottoms and food stained hoodies. Shame.

Trouble is that these are just little squirts and they know they are 'untouchable' It would be good to see motorists stopping and dispensing some good old fahioned 'justice' that used to be tolerated a few decades ago.
If any of these Meggeson Mall Rats got a clip round the ear then you can be sure that mobile phones would be used to record the actions plus noting car registrations. If the car is seen in the area then one can imagine to outcome.
Plus you'd have the 'elders' running out of the sink estate with baseball bats etc. They'd really be angry having been torn away from their 50" plasma screens as they watch Jeremy Kyle & co.
YouTube a nd other sites would be full of these morons strutting their stuff.
The police cannot and will not intervene. Therefore the local community should self-police these mini-thugs but have to live within the same area so naturally might now wish to be targetted.
We really need some good old fashioned vigilantes to sort this mess out. You can be sure that these sprogs will soon develop into teen terrors and kick off all manner of 'turf wars' on Townhill and the surrounding 'enemies' and rivals.
Just wait for the inevitable 'accident' when one of these little angels gets run over by a car, bus, lorry as they have their 'fun' in the snow.
Guess who will shoulder the blame?

Blame the parents but then they're no better in most cases.
Vigilantes are the answer but with the severe consequences these days, the only ones with nothing to lose are the scumbags we want off the street in the first place!!

just what is zero tolerance by the police nowadays?
Unfortunately its the performance management culture that is endemic within all public services, required of them by Governments past & present, which prevent the effective delivery of what the tax payer actually wants.
Too many senior public service posts are now dependant upon this performance management culture so until that changes, which is very unlikely, the public will continue to pay for excessive numbers of non productive pen pushers rather than staff actually delivering a service people need.

I witnessed a couple of dozen of them throwing snowballs at 3 police people yesterday and the police joined in and threw them back.
How appropriate in this weather, but this is just the tip of a huge iceberg which will gradually sink this country.
And just one other thing. Please do not assume that all youths who are unruly are chavs and/or the children of chavs. Lots of middle class Mummies and Daddies drop off their little darlin's round here and then begger off back to their posh secluded area and leave their offspring to wreak havoc.
Sooner or later we go under or we take control back from these devils spawn. I suspect, we will go under.
