YOUNGSTERS got busy with shovels to clear a car park full of snow at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.

Twenty-five pupils from Winchester College spent two hours clearing a visitor and patient car park on Wednesday that had remained closed all week due to the thick layer of snow.

The pupils, from years 10, 11 and 12 spend two hours a week helping in the local area as part of the college’s Community Service Program.

A spokesman for the hospital said: “They have done a great job. We are grateful for their help.”
