In Washington, USA if a school is closed due to snow (snow day), they have to make up those days at the end of the school year......!

Do you mean Washington D.C. or Washington state because your comment doesn't seem very clear as in WA. State I'd assume a fair bit of the year would be snowbound and therefore it would be hard to make them up, or infact Washington D.C., which, last year was incredibly snowbound and my contacts haven't mentioned this (I'm sure the kids I know out there would have mention having to repeat such days...they mainly moan about the lack of transport on such days.)

A woman who joined our group used to live in the US (and has 4 children), she said the same thing.. they have to make the days up. Not sure which state she was in though! Surely that makes MORE sense in snowbound states as otherwise children would miss out on huge chunks of education. Not rocket science!
