VICTORIA line travellers are still facing frequent delays, despite a multi-million pound upgrade of the route.

Figures show a 18 per cent rise in delays in January.

Line users have faced months of disruption, with almost daily delays for periods last year as trains and signals were replaced.

Transport for London (TfL) blamed the disruption on teething problems with updated equipment and “over-sensitive” door sensors on new trains.

The London mayor’s office said the figures were misleading as the average length of disruption had fallen since Boris Johnson was elected.

TfL also claimed the figures did not provide an accurate picture, saying the number of delays lasting longer than 15 minutes had fallen.

The worst performing route was the Jubilee line, with a 26 per cent rise in delays, according to the monthly performance figures.
