BROMSGROVE swimming starlet Olivia Gardner continued her excellent year by winning a medal at the Midlands Championships.
The 13-year-old won silver in the open water race in Leicestershire at the weekend, completing the 1,500-metre course in impressive style.
This was the first time Gardner, who races for Wyre Forest Swimming Club, had competed at this level.
She is the protege of coach Alan Bircher, who has himself has raced in the open water category for Great Britain, and is set to move on a scholarship to Ellesmere Collge Titan School, a centre of swimming excellence.
