As there are three schools in Southampton that have already declared they are closing tomorrow (along with several more in the Hampshire area on our separate list), and many more have warned parents they are looking at the situation closely because there is a very real chance they will shut, we felt it was entirely appropriate to give people that information as soon as possible.

Read the story underneath titled "police warn drivers to stay off roads". With some children arriving in taxis from 30 miles away how would you feel if they crashed due to snow! Not all children go to work locally we have children from fleet travelling to andover. Think before making comments like that.

All this talk of snow is absurd!!! Seriously schools will be open as normal tomorr, the only thing that could cause closure would be down to flooding!!!! As its raining where I live!!!!

absolutely pathetic don't know why they bother having schools, can't wait for an excuse to close them, who pays for a taxi to take their little darlings 30 miles to school not the taxpayer i hope!

Snow is like any other weather condition, we were forecast snow last weekend and it never materialised, even the most experienced forecaster cant always know exactly what is happening, weather can change its unpredictable, i dont know why we bother having schools either

How would we survive if we depend on one another in this county?

Some of us warn of the imminent possibility of dangerous conditions.

Some add that travelling a longer distance may add additional risk.

Some scoff that the identification of caution and responses to it is a measure of laziness or free-riding.

Take care peole of Hampshire, you may become our own worst enemies.
