HOW you would you like to bag your Christmas turkey, all the trimmings and other festive treats in one go – and all for a credit crunch-busting £1?

Customers at a Southampton supermarket have a chance to get their big shop done in double quick time with a trolley dash through the aisles.

One lucky shopper at Sainsbury’s in Shirley can win a two-minute run through the store and they get to keep any of the food items they put in their trolley.

Store spokeswoman Mandy Collinson said: “It’s a great way to save money and get Christmas dinner for free. Anyone who is elderly or disabled can nominate someone who is over 18 to do it for them.”

The winner will be able to put one example of each item into the trolley, but the offer excludes electrical goods, CDs and DVDs, alcohol, tobacco and health and beauty goods.

The event on Sunday is being held as part of the store’s fundraising campaign for the Hampshire RSPCA shelter The Stubbington Ark.

This year generous customers have already donated thousands of pounds worth of animal food and pet goods by buying products in store and donating them to a special in-store trolley for the charity.

Tickets for the trolley dash cost £1 each and are available in the store until Thursday, November 27.
