OFFICERS are winning the battle against underage alcohol sales in Fareham.

Just one boozer out of 15 shops and pubs was caught selling grog to youngsters by police during their latest test purchasing operation.

The Coach and Horses in Titchfield failed the test purchase on Saturday (Oct11) and was issued with a £80 fixed penalty notice.

Licensing officers were pleased to find that six pubs in the borough and eight shops all passed with flying colours.

Sergeant Roy Jennings, licensing officer, said: "This is a very good result for Fareham traders and we will continue with these test purchasing operations in the future."

Can you raise the drinking age to 21?

If kids so much as smell of booze here they are seriously dealt with and do spend time in jail as well as fines and then rehab courses paid for by them and compulsory.

In addition and at their cost they have a 'blow and go' device fitted by the state officers to their cars ignition and if they fail the 'blow' they cant start their car. The device activates randomly so the car may stall along the way and not be restarted if the driver fails the blow test. They are punished for underage drinking if they are underage or too many fails = No chance of licence - Get used to walking or bicycles for a long time.
It works well
