Mum-to-be puts Echo message in prime spot
10:42am Thursday 15th June 2006 in News By Kate Thompson
MESSAGE DIRECT: Mother-to-be Emma Marolia puts one of the many posters up around Southampton, at the St Mary's Surgery.
MUM-to-be Emma Marolia has given her backing to the Daily Echo Keep Them Safe campaign.
She is pictured at St Mary's Surgery in Southampton pinning up one of our posters on the notice board for visitors to see.
The Daily Echo launched the campaign after it was revealed eight babies had died in just six months in Hampshire after falling asleep in the same bed as their parents.
The campaign is backed by Southampton Primary Care Trust, Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, Hampshire Police and the Foundation for the Study of Infant Death (FSID).
Experts say the safest place for your baby to sleep is in a cot in your room for the first six months and you should never sleep with your baby on a sofa or armchair.
For advice and information call the FSID Helpline on 020 7233 2090 or go to www.sids.org.uk/fsid.
