THE parents of children at a primary school where two boys were found carrying knives have been sent letters of reassurance by the headteacher.

The action was taken after a nine-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy were both caught with knives at the school last week.

Police were called to the Mason Moor Primary School twice in 48-hours after the blades were discovered on the pupils.

Yesterday, however, the school said it had now sent out letters to parents to reassure them.

The letter says the youngsters brought the weapons in as acts of bravado, and says parents should be reassured that no harm was going to come to pupils.
