THE economy may have crash dived, we may all be threatened by swine flu, and Saints are facing a future in League One – but that doesn’t mean we have to be downhearted.

There is still plenty of good news around. That is why the Daily Echo has launched Reasons to be Cheerful – the place where we can bring you an array of up-beat news and views.

In this column we’ll be concentrating on everything that is certain to bring a smile to your face – and we want your help.

We want you to let us know what keeps you cheerful or makes you smile – or of any good news you might have.

It might be that your team has just won an award, your son has passed his driving test, your boyfriend proposed, your divorce came through – or that you have the best neighbour in the world.
