MIDDLEZOY Rovers progressed to the semi-finals of the Somerset Junior Cup with a close 1-0 win over Locomotives.

Andy Smith scored the only goal of the game in the first half.

Highbridge Town also booked their place in the semi-finals with a 3-2 win against Keinton Mandeville, with goals from Wayne Hand, Pete Thompson and Adam Lock.

In the second round of the league knock out cup, North Petherton fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Wyvern Rangers.

Predators thumped rivals Bridgwater Sports 4-0 with goals from Chris Taylor, Matt Kinsey, Ryan Weston and Damon Jennings from the penalty spot.

Wembdon progressed to the third round of the Seward Cup with a 3-2 win against Porlock Reserves thanks to goals from Simon Lukins, two, and Kev Sparks.

Storgursey were too strong for Division Five side Sampford Blues Reserves as they ran out 4-0 winners with goals from Charlie Sturdy, Alex Dixon, Ryan Chidgey and Pat Villis.

North Petherton beat Wembdon Saints Reserves 5-4. Jack Gardener scored all four goals for Wembdon while Sean Derrick, two, James Wyatt, Jason Mantyk and Jake Woodrow wrapped up the win for North Petherton.

Cannington Colts were well beaten 8-2 by Alcombe Rovers in Division One. Cannington's only strikes were through a Mark Pope effort and an own goal.

Westonzoyland and Nether Stowey shared the points in Division Two with a 1-1 draw. Anton Bolton scored for Westonzoyland and Dean Taylor notched for Nether Stowey.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves remain at the bottom of the table following a 3-0 defeat against Sampford Blues.

John Doyle's brace and a Scott Harman effort gave Wembdon Saints a 3-1 win over Norton Fitzwarren.

Adam Cramp scored twice for Nether Stowey Reserves but it was not enough to earn the points as Rhode Lane Wanderers scored four through Ben Patrick, Ash Glover, Josh Bake and Mitch Robins.

Westonzoyland Reserves beat Exmoor 1-0 thanks to Kevin Forrest's goal.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers were thrashed 8-1 by Tone Youth in the Division Five Cup section A. Adam Knight scored the grasshoppers' consolation goal.
