A FORMER footballer, a Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist and a YouTube star will be special guests at the Isle of Wight Race for All.
Former Portsmouth goalkeeper Alan Knight MBE, who made more than 700 appearances for the club between 1977 and 2000, has announced he will take part in the fundraising event.
He will be joined by Allan Turner-Ward, who was derided as a “fantastic plonker” by pop guru Simon Cowell, and fictional presenter Cooper Connelly.
Turner-Ward reached the semi finals of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent competition with his song Shake the Knees, while failed sports reporter Connelly is played by Danny Phillips.
The Race for All features two 5k runs and will be held at Medina Leisure Centre in Newport on the Isle of Wight on August 17.
The event is open to all men, women and children, and raises funds for Cancer Research UK.
There is one competitive race and one fun run, with entry costing £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s.
The event opens at 10.30am and runs until 4pm and for more information visit b7events.co.uk/race-for-all.
