HE’S known for his cool persona on and off the pitch.

But Saints boss Ronald Koeman took it to the next level by taking part in the ice bucket phenomenon.

The Dutch legend poured buckets of ice over staff from accommodation firm Town or Country in Oxford Street, Southampton, as the firm took part in a challenge as part of the craze sweeping social media.

Koeman poured the icy water over the heads of nine brave participants as they raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

But the Saints boss told the Daily Echo he has not been nominated to take the challenge himself.

“I enjoyed it. It’s too late for me to be nominated”, he joked.

“I’m pleased to be doing this for them, it’s no problem.

“I think it’s important to do something like this for charity.”

He said he is enjoying his time on the south coast and managing Saints.

He added: “Southampton is very good and I have enjoyed it since the first day.

“I’m happy to be here, the club is nice, the fans are nice and positive and I like it.”

Sharon Wood, from Town or Country, said: “It was brilliant.

We have a good team spirit here and they all enjoyed it. I am chuffed Ronald has done us a favour and it is good for him to partake in our charity event.”
