A HAMPSHIRE charity will share in the profits of this year’s X Factor Christmas single.

Hospices Naomi House & Jacksplace, based near Winchester, will receive some of the cash through their partnership with children’s charity Together for Short Lives.

The hospices care for children and young adults with life limiting conditions.

Paul Morgan, head of fundraising for Naomi House & Jacksplace said: “I’m thrilled that the children, young people and families in our care stand to benefit from the sale of this year’s X Factor single.

“Not only will the money raised provide a valuable boost to our fundraising efforts at this important time of year, but the exposure this partnership will generate can only help raise awareness of the crucial work undertaken by children’s hospices across the country.”

Simon Cowell added: “I have worked with this charity for many years and I’m delighted that The X Factor winner’s single sales will help families who are going through unthinkably difficult times. Together for Short Lives is such an inspiring and important charity which supports children all over the country. The money we hope to raise will really make a difference.”

It is the seventh X Factor single to benefit charities although Southampton singer Tom Mann will not join the list of previous winners after his group Stereo Kicks were booted out of the competition last weekend.

Syco, run by Simon Cowell, will donate 100 per cent of the single’s profits, expected to be at least £1 per CD and 20p per download.
