A BUILDING society which has branches in Southampton is calling on its members to raise vital funds for a leading cancer charity.

Yorkshire Building Society based in Above Bar have announced every vote received for its annual general meeting this year a donation will be made to support Marie Curie Cancer Trust.

Each vote will raise 25p to support the charity’s Hour of Need campaign to help provide more than 20,000 hours of nursing care to enable terminal cancer patients to spend their final days in their own home with friends and relatives.

Manager of the Southampton branch of Yorkshire Building Society, Jake Rogan said: “I really hope all our members use their vote, get involved in the society and have their say, while at the same time doing a good deed for charity.”
