IT WAS far from the glitz and glamour that this TV cast are used to.

Stars from the TV soap Hollyoaks have tested their fitness to the limit for a Hampshire charity.

The team donned their gym gear for a day of intense physical endurance to raise money for families across the county who have been affected by cancer.

Jorgie Porter who plays Theresa McQueen and Nikki Sanderson who plays Maxine Minniver went with co-stars Cameron Moore, Mandip Gill and Charlie Clapham for a bootcamp day at their director’s gym, Shape-Up Studios in Lymington.

Sean Glynn runs the centre with his wife Annabel and in a bid to raise money for the charity Força 14, they decided to ask the cast to help raise awareness.

They completed circuits, raced on static bikes and other people taking part were offered the chance to work out alongside the Hollyoaks celebrities.

Annabel said: “It was an amazing day and all the cast had a great time trying to complete the workouts. As Sean directs them occasionally he set up this system while they were working that they had to exercise every morning so they got a taster for what it was like and seemed to be interested.”

Força 14 was set up by a group of 14 mums in Lymington after their friend, Carla Whitbread was diagnosed with a severe form of breast cancer.

Now as a registered charity the women raise money to help families who have found out a loved-one has cancer.

Carla is originally from Portugal and força means strength in Portugese – which Annabel said is exactly what all the women in the organisation have in abundance.

She added: “They are a really dynamic group of women, their approach is very much a fighter’s instinct and they are very active with fundraising challenges.

“We haven’t got a fundraising total yet but it was a great day and the Hollyoaks crew were amazing we had lots of people interested because they were there and Carla came with some of the Força 14 crew to take part as well.”
